Wait a second, is Monk's sandwich JUST bread and a tomato slice??
It's not a square tomato. It's cubic. And it was inspired by The Borg.
1:13 He didn't put the bread on properly.
Hope we had gm seeds n crops in country ☹️☹️☹️
Technically it's a tomato cube.
Now I want square tomatoes lol
I haven't watched the show (full episodes anyway, yea I know I need to get on that) but even I can tell through Shaloub's performance in this scene that this is probably the happiest that Monk has ever been in his entire life. 🤣🤣
legofan370 accurate lmao
How can Monk be so out of touch? It's not a square tomato, it's a cube tomato.
A sphere is more efficient. It has the least surface area for the most volume. It would take more energy to encompass square shape. More energy means more water and fertilizers. Fuel costs are driven by weight. Ship X lbs cost X dollars. Round or square. Might mean less trucks on the road. But seeing as TANSTAAFL doubtful there is an energy saver. And what do we do with round burgers?
I wish someone would look at me the same way monk looks at that square tomato
Monk is so funny getting so excited over square.tomatoes. gotta love him.
I LOVE Monk! This is such a great tribute to Monk ❤️ I actually have a podcast all about Monk if you’re interested in listening it’s in on my page 😊
Monk opens his first restaurant Me: can I get a perfect sandwich with no tomatoes please Monk: no Sandwich for you! Me: ok sandwich nazi
OMD, I have OCD and I feel his elation. I NEED TO TASTE THE SQUARE TOMATO!!!
"This will virtually eliminate indigestion."
she sounds like a teenage boy
square? it's a cube. I'm disappointed
the comedy is so well written lol
Isnt just to take s tomatoe and then put it in a box?
Now I'm hungry for something I cant have .
I'm eight years old and even I know that's not a square, its a cube
In Mr. Monk Goes to the Asylum, it’s mentioned he is allergic to tomatoes.
This is actually addressed in the episode. They make it seem like the asymmetry is the reason he had indigestion (it was mentioned he had indigestion, not an allergy, in Mr Monk and the Asylum).
You don’t say a circle tomato normally so why say square tomato!?! It’s not a square tomato it’s a cube tomato, or more accurately a cuboid tomato as I find it very unlikely to be perfectly square on every side! Why doesn’t Adrian pick up on this!!!!!!
You know, the more you think about it, the more it makes sense, actually.
You can taste symmetry..
She should have told him the wheels on the bike were square. He would have run right out to find it.
@a•muse Which one? I would love to watch it.
Laughing Gravy There is an episode having the scene you described.
Since when circle is not symmetry?
"Your doing the lord's work "
* *You're* doing the lord's work.
The last intelligent American TV show.
dumbest fucking show ever made, idk why people think this is funny
Is it weird I’m watching monk right now on my tv?
I would have taken it home and picked out the seeds so I can grow more of those perfectly symmetrical tomatoes. ; ) ( . Y . )
If it's a hybrid you can't grow it from seeds, they don't breed true. You'd have to take cuttings and propagate those.
I too love the taste of symmetry
Monk is what happens to Morty Smith if Rick Sanchez doesn't wipe his memory after experiencing "true level".
SLJ: Shut it woman! You heard da man! YOU KIN TASTE DA SYMMETRY! The force is now balanced! Kittens cry! All dogs go to Heaven! Little Ceasers now has pretzel crust year round! Jimmy can walk!
Not to put a damper on anyone's enthusiasm about the square tomato... ...but there is round bread. I am right now having a perfectly round sea-salt crispbread, with cheese from a round Yule cheese. No overlap, no overhang...
Taste the symmetry.😂😂
uhm, just use round bread?
It's easy to make square tomatoes, too, without using genetics at all: Make confining case that the tomato grows inside from the beginning. It will end up conforming to that shape. Infact, most fruits and vegetables can be shaped in this same way. If you've ever been to "The Land" at EPCOT (Walt Disney World) then you've seen their square watermelons, etc made using this technique.
@Andrew Suryali Sounds delicious! (NOT!)
@Andrew Suryali They're bad because they're picked before they are ripe
Cubic tomatoes are far harder to do than cubic watermelons. Watermelons are heavy, hard-shelled, and grow on the ground. Putting one in a cube mold is easy to do. Tomatoes grow on branches and the weight of a mold may break their stem at maturity. Also, cubic watermelons taste horrible. I know because I bought one in Japan and actually tried to eat it despite the clear warning not to on the packaging. The way the watermelon grows itself into a cube is ridiculous because what it actually does is turn its shell double-thick (maybe more) in places, and not in a symmetric way. You end up with something that is mostly rind with rind fibers crisscrossing the edible flesh of the fruit.
I wonder what Sheldon would say to that
I thought it was a cube.
The cross-section is a square.
But circles are infinitely symmetrical. Squares only have four symmetries.
@canpitt only if the tomato is the same size as the bread
But it won't make a symmetrical sandwich, because slices are all of different diameters. With a square tomato the sandwich only needs one slice since that reaches all 4 corners.
Have you ever seen a perfectly spherical tomato?
Actually, Square produce would be awesome and he's not wrong about every slice being the same size, there's nothing wasted, how often do you slice up a tomato to put out for you and your family to make sandwiches with and there's always a few of the smallest ones from the edges that no one wants that you just end up tossing? it's not a cure for cancer but it's a pretty significant achievement.
Pamela adlon. didnt know she was in anything other than louie.
Who cares it's a square tomato!
Pamela Adlon? "Better Things" and the voice of Bobby Hill? Awesome!
I used to love this show. Thanks for uploading.
who the fuck likes a 280p vidoe!!! all of you are dumb sheep
I understood " you can taste the cemetery "😱 I didn't understand !!!!!
What low iq does the uploader have, to be uploading this in 240p?
You're doing the Lord's work. 😂😂😂
Square tomatoes have actually existed commercially since the 70s, and probably long before that just for "fun". They're grown in moulds, of course.
its quite old but Sheldon Cooper should meet Monk :D
How does it taste... Who cares it's a square tomato Best... line... ever
How does it taste......WHO cares?
Non mi piace
"there's no overlap" you can literally cut 2 x circle tomatoes into two, place them in bread facing side ways covering all the edges.
@RFC3514 i did post a link, post a link with the semicircular too
You can't make "a perfect square" from circular sections. Try it, take a photo, post the link here.
@RFC3514 like this one look desofts.info/hd/video/Z86On2qJbo93mG0
@RFC3514 thats why I said 2x 2 on the edge then another 2 on the gaps forming a perfect square for the bread
But then you have a gap in the middle. It's actually simpler to make semicircular bread.
wasn't he allergic to tomatoes
I would've loved if he said "This is my first ever bite of tomato, it's square perfection..." And then after taking the bite, he pauses, and says "....Turns out I don't like tomato."
Don't see what the fuss is, I grew a square tomato fifty years ago, didn't half puzzle my teacher.
in a mould? lots of people do that to lots of food in lots of shapes. the show was saying the scientists made a tomato variety that grows naturally as a cube. that hasn't been done.
Mr Monk has SEVERE OCD. A perfectly square tomato is a godsent to him.
We have square pigs, now a sqaure tomato....pefekt, now we can make a square burger ;)
Nobody tell him about the square watermelons they grow in Japan he would lose his mind
They taste like ass apparently . Just for deco
I get it. I really do.
I was called insane when i put the idea of square tomatoes to faculty in my college .they were all like do you know how dangerous it can be
remember bob from monsters vs alien
@Sir Reil the origin of the attack of the killer tomatoes
This sounds like a terrific Batman villain back story.
Whatever floats your boat monkman.
it should realy be called a cubic tomato
DUDE, MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY. I thought I was the only one bugged by regular tomatoes this much
"how does it taste?" "it tastes of symmetry!"
That is some SERIOUS case of OCD there....
Have you watched the show, dude?
came here for hearing his originial voice (only knowing his german) maaaan he sounds so cute in the last 20 secs
omg that woman is Susan from Curb your Enthusiasm
Tribute to Monk: Give this comment a like if it has below 100 and a dislike if it has over 100
Congrats on the square tomato
I think this was the best episode of this brilliant series. "Mr Monk on wheels", it was called (?).
The best part is when Monk actually goes to get the bike which he doesn’t want to die and then gets shot in the leg. xD
what episode is this one?
You can taste the symmetry..... your doing the Lord's work 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
* *You're* doing the Lord's work.
